Hello wonderful subscribers!
Today I’ve got the some really exciting updates and information about the next giveaway!
Did you see the amazing headers and footers on this newsletter? Aren’t they amazing! They were done by Jenny at Seedlings Design! I saw the amazing headers that Intisar Khanani had and I had to know where she got them from, so I asked! I’ve updated my website and Twitter to have them, so check those out! I’ve got snazzy bookmarks coming, too!
I will be at ReaderCon! I will probably be wandering around wearing an Osmium Tiara, like the one Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo wears. Say hi, I will have bookmarks! One of the booksellers will also be carrying signed copies of A Lake of Feathers and Moonbeams. I will have further details on this closer to the con! I hope to see you there!
Speaking of A Lake of Feathers and Moonbeams, did I mention it’s getting a new edit? And new formatting? And a new cover? Because it is! There were some parts that didn’t live up to what I wanted, and so I went back and made them better. I am bad at formatting, so I am paying Pretty AF Designs to do the interior formatting with cute illustrations for the physical and ebook editions! I can’t wait to share it with y’all! There’s some brand new scenes, including a really cute wedding scene ;). I went in for just light editing but accidentally another 10k words. #woops
If you have an ebook copy, Amazon should push the updates to you when I get them live. If not, you can go to your content and devices
and find the book, then request the new version! If you have a paperback copy, and want the new one, LMK! I will get you one! The paperbacks at ReaderCon will be the new ones!!
It’s been #LGBTWIP month, if you haven’t been following along, I’ve been posting snippets of my WIP novel. My word count has not budged, but I’ve been doing major planning on it.
My poetry collection, though, is hard. Like, way hard. It started out with random poems about nebula and comets and then I realized I accidentally had characters and a plot and woops. Figuring that out and teasing it apart has been slow going, because I love both the characters so much.
Look. It’s been a busy few weeks. I’ve been doing editing like it’s going out of style, my spouse graduated from an MSW program (wooooooo), I started two new jobs (new full time day job, new part time day job, both writing software), my girlfriend came to visit, and I’m moving. I wish I had reading updates! But so far Inkmistress is good! The three pages I’ve read!
The giveaway is still open for WINTERGLASS. Winner will be announced June 15. It’s The Snow Queen but gay and with gladatorial battles and cities fueled by ghosts. It’s got the best prose in the world and a gorgeous cover.
There’s like a million amazing new releases this June it is no fair. Seriously, no fair. I could not pick just one to do a giveaway for. So I didn’t!
I met Zoraida Cordova at Mapcap Retreats Writing Cross-Culturally and she was amazing. I am so thankful for the advice she gave me on my WIP. I absolutely loved LABYRINTH LOST and I am so happy to give away a copy of BRUJA BORN. You like teen witches? Living in Brooklyn? Accidentally doing spells that cause major problems? These are your books!
I am SO EXCITED for the new covers for the Embers Quartet. I love the one for A REAPER AT THE GATES and adore the new ones they made for AN EMBER IN THE ASHES and A TORCH AGAINST THE NIGHT. I love seeing Laia on the cover because she kicks ass. If you haven’t been reading these books, this is your chance. Sabaa Tahir has created an amazing world filled with prophecies, grudges, political intrigue and magic.
Both winners will be announced JULY 15 and I will be shipping to the winners as soon as I have an address. I ship internationally!
I told you last time how I got a new computer chair so that Didi could have mine? Here she is being INCREDIBLY happy that I no longer kick her out of the chair.
Thanks so much for subscribing! I truly appreciate it, and my pets love being gushed over on the internet so thanks!
